swaylock

swaylock is a screen locker for Wayland. swaylock-effects adds additional features such as blur.

Use Cases

swaylock can be used to:

  • Lock the screen in a reasonable way

You should not use swaylock if:

  • You're running on Xorg (use xsecurelock instead)
  • You use a desktop environment that already has a screen locker
