# Description Forgot that I fixed this already on my branch, but when printing without a display output hook, the implicit call to `table` gets its output mangled with newlines (since #12774). This happens when running `nu -c` or a script file. nu-protocol
The nu-protocol crate holds the definitions of structs/traits that are used throughout Nushell. This gives us one way to expose them to many other crates, as well as make these definitions available to each other, without causing mutually recursive dependencies.
