This caused some problems when the ~/.Xresources DPI was 192 and the screen resolution was 96 DPI. Since I now know how to manipulate cursor size even after X is started, manually setting Xft.dpi in ~/.Xresources to 96 or 192 DPI is no longer needed. |

xresources
xresources is used to configure X settings outside of desktop environments.
Use Cases
xresources can be used to:
- Set the font settings for low-level X applications
- Change the DPI of the X instance
You do not need xresources if:
- You are using a desktop environment that handles X or higher-level settings for you
- You are not using X
