Why Are We Building This?

In mid-2020, when the author purchased a commercial license for TeamViewer due to the Covid-19 pandemic forcing remote work in Singapore, he was shocked by the high price. After a sleepless night, he began developing RustDesk - an open source and free remote desktop software available to everyone. After many sleepless nights, RustDesk was published on GitHub in 2021.
